Concept Test Findings Report

This document summarizes the insights generated during the concept testing phase of Eat Healthy Food. The insights from this report are intended to provide user-generated feedback and begin to identify:

    • To validate the user’s goals, needs, and pain points

    • Better learning about people’s existing eating habits

    • Help user get 100% of their daily nutritional needs met through whole foods every day

The outputs of this research will be used to identify development priorities, recommended changes to Eat Healthy Food, and generate “quick wins” which can be implemented to deliver immediate value to end users.

Sitemap

A sitemap outlines the goals and purposes of a site or an App, giving direction to my project.

It also helps me provide users with an enhanced user experience, like easy navigation, by establishing the hierarchy of my App pages at an early stage.

User Flows

User flows are a template to create wireframes.

Wireframes are a visual representation of your user flows.

Card Sort/Tree Test

Card sorting is a highly useful technique. Card sorts help with the validation of my information architecture/site map logic and the continuity of how users associate titles/features/information.

Set up:

I used a hybrid card sort method.

I created 28 cards and 4 categories, and leave categories open for editing.

Result:

Most of the cards get into the category in which I want them.

Two cards “My progress” and “Challenge/activity” surprised me. Half of my participants want to group them together.

Result:

I notice that participants were confused about where should they put these cards (“discuss” “recommend” “personal info” “trend” “challenge” and” nearby”) in these categories.

The answer is kind of diverting.

Action:

I tried to avoid these confusing cards display in my App design.

Wireframes - Sketches

Sketches help to convey ideas, demonstrate functionality, visualize user flow, and illustrate anything that requires human interaction.

In the early stage of my App design, I would start designing directly using a pencil to sketch.

It always helps me in discovering new ideas and solutions to design.

Wireframes - Digital

After I sketched on paper. I transferred my design to digital form.

I like to keep every component remain the same type or style. So the interface become a whole, which is awesome.

Prototype

Prototypes show a user the potential designs and experience before investing time and money into formal development.

With prototyping in Figma, I can create multiple flows for my prototype on one page to preview a user's full journey and experience through my designs.

Usability Test

Usability testing helps me to understand how real users interact with my App.

When reporting results from a usability test, I could learn if my participants are able to complete the specified task successfully and identify how long it takes to complete the task.

I conduct 3 users. All of them successfully booked an appointment with the expert.

The average time to complete the task is 1-2 mins.

Users found that the steps were very easy to complete. The task was simple and clear.
